Former ICE agent enters plea in federal bribery case

DETROIT (AP) - A former federal agent has pleaded responsible to bribery and conspiracy in a case involving a suburban Detroit legal professional.

The U.S. Attorney’s place of business says 49-year-old Clifton Divers seemed Friday in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

Authorities have stated Divers used his place as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement—Homeland Security Investigations agent to acquire deferrals of deportations and different immigration advantages for non-citizen international nationals.

Attorney Charles Busse pleaded responsible in 2016 to bribery and conspiracy to defraud the United States, tax evasion and failing to document bills of greater than $10,000. Busse of Birmingham used to be accused of paying bribes for deportation deferrals and different advantages for purchasers. He used to be sentenced final yr to 3 years in jail.
