Man accused of pointing gun over bumper stickers to be tried

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri guy accused of pointing a gun at a Democratic activist whose political bumper stickers he discovered “stupid” has been sure over for trial.

The Springfield News-Leader stories pass judgement on dominated Wednesday that there's enough proof for the case to continue towards 48-year-old Edward Burns, of Ozark.

He is charged with illegal use of a weapon within the alleged Aug. 24 road-rage incident that ended with Laura Umphenour crashing right into a guardrail on U.S. 65. At the time, Umphenour’s minivan was once lined with bumper stickers, together with ones opposing President Donald Trump, Fox News and pet turbines. Court paperwork say Burns known as the bumper stickers “stupid.”

Umphenour says Burns’ movements have been an assault on unfastened speech. The protection lawyers say Burns was once merely status his flooring.
