The first ads for Apple’s HomePod are all about music

Apple has launched its first ads for its upcoming speaker gadget, HomePod, which put the focal point at the speaker’s position in the house as an audio instrument, that includes dynamic textual content set to the likes of Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA” and Big Boi’s “All Night.”

The ads are quintessentially Apple: quick and dynamic. The corporate’s use of Lamar’s “DNA” — a tune about black id in an oppressive society — feels telling. The lyrics “I got loyalty,” appear love it’s extra about the loyalty of its shoppers, who shall be taking an opportunity at the instrument as the corporate wades into an already crowded box.

Apple opened preorders for the $349 instrument previous this week, and it’s anticipated to start out transport on February ninth.
