LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Police officials on the University of Kansas will quickly get started sporting stun guns as a protected possibility for eventualities when deadly power isn’t suitable or vital.
University Police Chief Chris Keary tells the Lawrence Journal-World that each one division officials will likely be educated and armed with a stun gun through the tip of the spring semester.
Keary says maximum campus police departments within the Kansas Board of Regents device already carry stun guns, as do native regulation enforcement companies. He says he wouldn’t be shocked if other people had assumed the dep. used to be already sporting them.
The value of the conducted-electrical guns, together with holsters, cartridges, batteries, coaching provides and different similar apparatus, totals to just about $68,000. Keary says the college’s Public Safety Office is protecting the price.
